" Free post "

Even though I offer free post in my folksy shop for UK customers, I still like to design postage stamps, when I have a few minutes spare! Here's a couple of new ones. Thanks for looking ♥

" Not so dark tree! "

This is my latest painting, called " Dark tree ". As you can see it's pretty colourful against a dark tree trunk. I'd love to say it took 2 weeks to paint, like many of my works, but that would be far from the truth. I made this print digitally. It's my first attempt at a fully digital print, taking about a day. There are still a few elements taken from my original art, you may recognise the birdies and background! " Dark tree " can be purchased from redbubble as a card and many different print sizes. Many thanks for looking ♥

" Wisteria tree "

I was so pleased to find that the 6th { early days yet!} sale of my artwork prints was from the dreamaid web site." Wisteria tree", is being sold as a 10" x 8" print. It's is a magical, dreamy mixed media and collage painting, on canvas board. I still have all my original paintings.

" dreamaid dreams! "

Like many folksy sellers, I've joined up to sell on dreamaid. I'm enjoying finding my way with the site and love the idea of offering support to Artists in the developing world. There is so much poverty and devastation in the world, but we are all human and have the same basic needs.

I am delighted to see one of my artworks on the front page of dreamaid.

To find out more about dreamaid, simply tune into BBC2 tonight at 8.00 pm and watch Theo's adventure capitalists. Here's a jolly photo of the guys with Theo Paphitis!!

" Gypsy prints "

My new mini prints sold as soon as they were listed in my folksy shop! Part of their appeal may be the way I have digitally enhanced my original art, by adding a vintage handckerchief boarder, making them resemble the busy fabrics you might find inside a gypsy caravan.
Mini 4 x6" prints are for sale in my folksy shop ♥

" 1st Folksy sale, hoorah!! "

I am so pleased to have my 1st sale from the folksy shop. A lovely lady has ordered prints of my love bird mini Art canvasses. The originals are for sale, but prints are such an affordable way to buy Art! I get to keep the originals for a while longer too!!

" Mini origional artworks "

When I'm creating small paintings, I like to work on several pieces at once. It helps to keep the creative juices flowing and I don't have to wait around for paint to dry, which as we all know is boring! You can see my work in progress with the unfinished canvasses on my table. Also, these small works are made to look good together, as they do make quite an impact en mass! I've used my favorite techniques to get the effects, including, spraying paint through lace fabric, stamping with raised wall paper, { free samples from a DIY shop } and bubble wrap. I also made my own flower stamps by sticking foam onto thick card. Finally, I decided to paint the boarders black to bring the paintings together. The canvases measure 20 x 15cm and are all available to buy in my folksy shop, though not all are listed. Many thanks for looking ♥ http://www.mochalulu.folksy.com/

Pretty posting!

As my photo shop skills develop with many hours of practice, I am finding lots of new ways to have fun.
I made these cute postage stamp designs, by incorporating my art works with other photographic images. I then popped into http://www.bighugelabs.com/ and chose "frames", then "postage stamps". Bighuge labs have lots of tools for budding graphic designers to play with.

Italianate balcony

A couple of years ago Mr. Tony and I stayed on the lovely Greek Island of Kefalonia in the picturesque town of Fiskardo. The architecture is significantly Italianate and I took many photos. In particular, I was drawn towards the crumbling ancient balconies on some facades. Hopefully we will go back to Fiskardo later this year.
